Unifi Technologies, Inc., About Us
All of us have witnessed change, drastic at times, over the course of our careers - whether those careers be in medicine or in the countless other areas of human activity that make up our communities and our economy. Over the past thirty-five years, for example, we have experienced changes directly affecting our own lives through the deregulation of our electric and gas utilities, transportation, communication and financial service industries resulting in choice in the source of our power; nearly total deregulation of the schedules and pricing available from our airlines; the breakup of AT&T and new choices in how we communicate and through whom; the explosion of financial service firms and a proliferation of investment and credit products and services available to the consumer and to business. Over this same period, we have witnessed a pace of development and deployment of technology that at times is unfathomable – in the breadth of its reach into every aspect of our personal and professional lives, and in the extent to which it has changed the way virtually every business is run and even the way that we as individuals communicate with each other. With these rapid technological advances has come an explosion of personal and professional data, much of it “real-time” and readily available not only through the internet, but from tapping into the countless individual private networks of the countless large and small businesses and institutions, both public and private, across the country and the world. This interconnectedness has forced ever-greater efforts for Government and other regulatory bodies to protect the security and privacy of at least some of this data; and, nowhere have these efforts been more evident than in the healthcare industry where the sensitivity of patient data and the need for total security of that data is obvious to all.
Unifi Technologies, Inc., (“Unifi”) is focused solely on the needs of the medical practice management industry. We have been involved in working with a broad array of individuals and organizations to address not only the vast array of technological possibilities now available to us at relatively low cost, but also to address the data protection issues cited above. In so doing we have learned to become flexible and agile, yet also deliberate, as we confront change that relates to the efficient, cost-effective and compliant conduct of today’s medical practice – change from ever-emerging new technologies, change from the nature of the business-related requirements of the medical practices themselves and change from the ever-expanding regulations with which practice management must comply. The decision to develop Unifi-Med came out of an in-depth analysis of elements in all of these areas that convinced us to create a “Software as a Service” (“SaaS”) solution for the small to medium-sized medical practices that will allow significant cost reduction, the ability to counter increased competition and the surety of compliance with increasingly stringent regulation. A “SaaS” delivered solution such as Unifi-Med is fully web-native and browser-based and offers the most cost-effective long-term solution, with the most advanced capabilities, for medical practice management.
The Unifi team is focused on placing each medical practice with
which it partners at the leading edge of functionality and
regulatory compliance and keeping it there, while lowering the
overall cost of ownership of computer network equipment and
reducing office labor workloads – all the result of the
fact that all Unifi’s energies and resources
focus solely on the needs of the medical practice management
industry. Unifi’s professionals included medical
practitioners and medical business managers, all keenly aware
of the difficult issues currently facing the small and
medium-sized medical practice. It is these professionals
that have developed and implement Unifi-Med
– a fully integrated, single-source solution available
today to address the long-term needs
of the medical practice management industry. And for
tomorrow, as our focus is to continue
working with the regulatory committees that will continue to
evolve standards for our industry on an ongoing basis, we have
the capability through use of the “SaaS” delivery
construct to seamlessly integrate new security, privacy and
office-related technologies into Unifi-Med as
required and without disruption.
